Northern Balance secures CPI Framework for balance and scale calibration, maintenance, and supply

We’re delighted to announce that Northern Balance has been awarded the multi-year framework for balance and scale calibration, maintenance, and supply across the CPI’s Technology Centres in Northern England and Scotland.

Commencing in 2026, the multi-year contract includes UKAS accredited and traceable calibrations, servicing, repair and replenishment of CPI’s fleet of laboratory balances and industrial weighing equipment, which range from precision instruments, heavy-capacity scales to test weights.

Delivered across laboratory and plant facilities, all weighing services support the CPI’s analytical processes that enable breakthrough research in smart AgriFoodTech, energy storage, HealthTech, materials, and pharmaceuticals – areas where accurate and reliable weighing solutions are critical.

Paul Moran, Managing Director of Northern Balance, commented:

“We’re immensely proud to be chosen for this Framework, which recognises our ability to deliver turnkey weighing services at scale for research-driven organisations.

Contributing to CPI’s innovation programmes is a privilege, and we’ll draw on our technical expertise and broad supplier network to ensure their fleet of balances, scales and test weights remain accurate, fully operational, and compliant across all Technology Centres.”

The CPI contract follows Northern Balance’s successful bid for the University of York’s multi-year maintenance contract for 400 balances.  Together, these awards strengthen Northern Balance’s position as a trusted provider of end-to-end laboratory and industrial weighing solutions that deliver the reliability, precision and compliance that highly regulated sectors depend on.
