Following several notable contract wins across Pharmaceuticals, Food and Beverage Manufacturing and Chemicals, Northern Balance has strengthened its position as independent weighing solutions partner to critical industries by recruiting a territory sales manager and five additional service engineers.

The six new roles are key to the Company’s ambitious development plans as it targets double-digit growth over the next 12 months.

Simon Rowlands has joined the company as the territory sales manager for the South.  With a 14-year track record in helping essential industries navigate compliance guidelines set by regulators including MHRA and US Pharmacopeia, Simon will focus on supporting new and existing customers with solutions that drive quality across their weighing processes.

Christopher Dickson, James Hudson, Richard Shepherd, Mark Thompson and Jordan Todd have been appointed as service engineers supporting customers cross-industry.  The engineers hold 18 years’ collective expertise and add to the growing network of engineers servicing customers from their dedicated regions throughout the UK.

Speaking of the appointments, Daniel Egan-Sheath, Finance and Operations Director at Northern Balance, said: “Despite the evolving challenges presented by COVID-19, we’ve seen a surge in demand for our services which has fuelled our growth plans even further.

“Simon, Christopher, James, Richard, Mark and Jordan are seasoned experts across the full spectrum of laboratory, industrial and retail weighing applications.  We’re delighted that we have the additional people and competencies to extend our weighing expertise further across the UK, and flex around our customers’ needs.”

Over the last four years, the Company has gone from strength to strength completing two office moves into larger premises to accommodate higher volumes of work and a growing team.  Now housed in a 7,500-square-feet Head Office in Gateshead, the site is also home to a 3,000-square-feet Service Centre – a beating hub for the wide portfolio of weighing technologies that are expertly calibrated, serviced and repaired by the Company’s specialist engineers.

“The investment in growing our expertise reflects our continued commitment to supporting our customers to achieve quick returns now and in years to come. This is an exciting time for Northern Balance and we’re in an ideal position to execute our growth plans over the next 12 months and beyond.” Egan-Sheath added.
