Northern Balance Consultancy was started by Jeff Rouse in 1971 and we have been servicing all makes of balances in Northern England and Scotland since then.
Our offices and workshops are based in Gateshead - just off the Western Bypass and very near the Metro Centre.
Our Engineers have many years of experience working with all types of balances and regularly attend manufacturers courses to update their product knowledge and technical skills.

We have large contracts with many prominent companies, health authorities and county councils in the area as well as schools, colleges and universities. We also gladly look after many smaller establishments where there may be only one or two balances to service but which may be vital to their successful operation.
Service and calibration contracts can be as 1,2,3 or 4 visits per annum and we offer a very prompt and efficient call out service. Wherever possible problems are rectified on site (or sometimes by phone saving the cost of a call out) but if a balance has to be taken back to our workshop the repair will be quoted before any work is carried out. Once accepted the job will be completed quickly and efficiently.

In keeping with our policy of offering top quality service to our customers, we are one of the few companies to attain the high standard of UKAS (NAMAS) accreditation for on-site calibration of balances.
This is good news for our customers and a just reward the hard work that has gone into the development of our company over the years.
Quality assurance has a high priority within our company and we have a fully implemented QA procedure to cover all aspects of our organisation. All our weights are traceable to NPL and we can provide certification for the calibration of balances that meets the requirements of most quality assurance standards.
As authorised agents for all the main balance manufacturers we enjoy their total support which includes training courses for calibration, service, repair and adjustment as well as updating of software.

Balances and scales can be connected to printers or computers to record or monitor weight readings and for use in G.L.P.
